BladeZ T2 Treadmill Review

Our BladeZ T2 treadmill review assesses a model that comes in both Basic and Pro options - but does it deliver more than the big names at this price?

BladeZ is owned by the huge DK Fitness corporation and makes some decent treadmills in the mid-price range. The BladeZ T2 Basic lines up at $1,199 and the T2 Pro at $1,399.

At these prices they're up against some heavyweight competition from the likes of Bowflex and Sole.

So does the T2 offer enough to tempt potential buyers away from the established brands?

BladeZ T2 Treadmill Review - What's it Like...?

The BladeZ T2 treadmill is a folding machine that comes in the Basic and Pro options.

Given the $200 price difference, the Pro doesn't really offer a great deal more than the Basic - the treadmill is the same, there are just a few minor upgrades on the display console and electonic features.

The T2 has a 2.5 HP continuous duty motor that should be good for walkers and joggers and offers an 11 mph top speed. Although runners might want to upgrade to the T4 with its 3.0 HP motor.

The treadbelt is a good size, offering a generous 55" x 20" running area with the comfortable Active Flex Suspension System providing a joint friendly surface to jog on.

The belt runs over big 2.5" rollers, which will help to reduce belt friction and tension and augers well for the belt's longevity.

The T2 Basic has a red LED 5 window console display, the Pro gets a 3 window version but with a blue LCD matrix window as well.

You also get heart rate control with the Pro and wireless heart rate monitoring to complement it. The Basic gets pulse grip monitors only.

Both models get six pre-set workout programs, but the Pro has four extra custom programs.

Quick programming controls come as standard on the Basic and the Pro.

The warranties are worth a mention with a lifetime on the frame and motor, five years on the parts and one year on the labour - not bad at these prices.

My main gripe concerning BladeZ treadmills is that you'll struggle to find them for sale online. Try somewhere like Elite Fitness Equipment.com which has a few models at discounted prices. Failing that check out the BladeZ Fitness site for local dealers.

  • The BladeZ T2 treadmill isn't a bad option, although upgrading to the Pro from the Basic is questionable as you don't get many extra features for the money.

If you're going to spend the extra $200 on the Pro then I'd take a look at something like the Bowflex Series 5 or better still, the Sole F80.

The T2 isn't a bad attempt from BladeZ, but there are better treadmills in this price range.
