BodyGuard T280 Treadmill Review

Our BodyGuard T280 treadmill review leaves us very impressed with this excellent machine - is it one of the best options under $3,000?

Canadian company BodyGuard has swiftly established a reputation within the treadmill industry as a quality brand - with the T280 treadmill it's not hard to see why!

Coming in two guises - the T280P and T280C - this treadmill is a mid-range model and retails for just under $3,000.

As such, it's up against some excellent competition from the likes of Landice and Nautilus.

How does it compare?

BodyGuard T280 Treadmill Review - What's it Like...?

First off, what's the difference between the T280P and T280C - apart from $500!

The T280C comes with an orthopaedic belt and a few extra workout programs. Now I'm not a fan of ortho belts - their extra padding puts additional strain on the motor for very little improvement in comfort compared to the standard belt.

Besides, the Sorbothane shock absorption system is highly effective and offers a very comfortable surface to run on.

As such, the T280P is a better value option at $2,899 than the T280C at $3,399

Ok, so what do you get with the BodyGuard T280 treadmill?

For starters, there's the silky smooth 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, which copes effortlessly with the big 2 ply belt.

The 57" x 20" running area isn't as spacious as some treadmills at this price, but should provide enough space for most runners to stretch out on.

The treadmill maxes out at 11 mph and along with the max 15% incline on the deck should offer the most challenging of workouts for home fitness enthusiasts.

The deck doesn't fold, which is a little strange given that this is a treadmill designed for residential as opposed to commercial use.

Make sure you have the space to leave it set up between workouts.

One strtiking aspect of the BodyGuard T280 treadmill is the build quality, which is excellent with no cutbacks made on the components used throughgout.

The warranties reflect this with a lifetime on the frame and motor, 10 years on the parts and 3 years on the labour - outstanding!

The T280P comes with 10 workout programs, which is more than enough, pulse grip heart rate monitors as well as a wireless chest belt.

The console display is amongst the best designed in this price range and provides a clear and easy to read user interface.

All in all, the T280 represents one of the better treadmill packages currently on the market.

  • There's no doubting the quality of the BodyGuard T280 treadmill - it's an excellent machine. Go for the T280P, which is the better option.

However, my dilemma is the price. BodyGuard sells through licensed dealers and their treadmills are hard to find online.

Whilst you can pick up discounts, they're not as generous as deals you can pick up on comparable treadmills from other manufacturers.

For instance, you can get the outstanding Sole F85 treadmill for $1,999. For my money, that's an equally good treadmill, which folds and offers a better value option.

Alternatively, if you want to spend the best part of $3,000 take a look at a Landice or Nautilus treadmill.
