BodyGuard Treadmill Review

Our BodyGuard treadmill review takes a look at a treadmill brand that consistently scores well in best buy polls - so how good are their treadmills?BodyGuard is owned by the Canadian company ProCycle and has been making treadmills since the mid-90s. Whilst not the best known brand on the market, BodyGuard produce some excellent machines that rank highly with many critics. It's not hard to see why they've received a stack of awards as they're superbly put together, have outstanding warranties and offer great value for money.
BodyGuard Treadmill Review - First Impressions...
The BodyGuard line up includes residential treadmills for home use ranging from around $2,000 to $4,300 as well as a couple of commercial models. The lower end models are made in China to help keep the price down, but still boast the same attention to detail, well thought out design and innovative features as the higher end treadmills. Features like electronic stride control that keeps the speed of the motor constant regardless of incline changes or the weight of the user are not found on many other brands. The "Sorb-a-Deck" decking system is another feature that ensures a BodyGuard's treadmills stands out from the crowd. It helps the deck to absorb impact shock and prevents 'bounce back' due to the way it flexes - in short, it's a great running surface. The motors are powerful continuous duty units and they cope with the large belts and their spacious running areas with no sign of stress or strain. I'd avoid the models with orthopaedic belts as whilst the drive systems are upgraded to cope with them, the treadmills with regular belts are cheaper and just as comfortable to run on. The warranties are also uniformly excellent, typically offering a lifetime on the frame and motor, 10 years on the parts and 3 years on the labour. The BodyGuard T240 is one of the best treadmills on the market at the $2,000 mark and the T280P is also well worth a look at $2,999. Whilst the treadmills over $3,000 are very good, I'd go for a Landice or Nautilus if I were spending that kind of money. Nevertheless, anyone serious about their fitness should add BodyGuard to their list of brands to research. Looking for the best price on BodyGuard treadmills? Let our Treadmill Buying Guide help you.
BodyGuard Treadmill Review - So What do we Think...?
Well, our BodyGuard review leaves us in little doubt - you won't get much better for your money!Well built and durable with great warranties, BodyGuard offers a tremendous package. The one downside for me are the prices. BodyGuard sells through authorised dealers that serve just their local area. This makes them tough to find online and the lack of competition tends to keep prices higher than they might othwerwise be. Great for the dealer, not so good for the consumer although customer support is excellent. Hunt out a local dealer - or check the BodyGuard Fitness website - and you may get a discount. Alternatively check out Sole and Spirit, which both offer equally good treadmills that can be bought with substantial discounts and for me offer slightly better value for money as a result. However, if you opt for a BodyGuard treadmill you're unlikely to be disappointed.
