Bowflex Treadmill Review

Bowflex Logo

Our Bowflex treadmill review examines one of the big names in home fitness and their range of treadmills - their home gyms sell well, but are their treadmills any good?

Better known for their big-selling resistance equipment, the fairly recent introduction of a range of low to mid-price treadmills to their inventory has pitched Bowflex into battle with some of the quality treadmill brands.

Not that Bowflex need worry, being owned by the iconic Nautilus certainly lends them some credibility. And Bowflex is keeping some decent company with the likes of Trimline and the ever popular Schwinn being part of the same line up.

Now let's make no bones about it, Bowflex has quickly established an enviable share of an intensely crowded market -- so how have they done it?

Bowflex Treadmill Review - First Impressions...

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Overall, whilst boasting a modest range of three treadmills - the Series 3, 5 and 7 - Bowflex has weighed up the opposition and come up with an attractive package for home fitness enthusiasts.

Sat in the $1,000-$2,000 range, they're just out of the budget basement and should prove attractive to walkers and runners wanting a slightly more sophisticated and serious machine than lower end brands like Weslo and ProForm can offer.

They certainly look good and the sleek design and robust build quality hint at a pedigree earned from the unforgiving commercial environment.

On the plus side, the motors are above average, the decks reasonably well-proportioned and there are all the flashing lights you need to entertain and amuse you whilst working out.

The decks fold, which is a boon for home users struggling for storage space and needing to reclaim the living room between workouts!

And don't forget the warranties - 15 years on the frame, 10 years on the motor, two years on the parts and a year on the labour is nothing to sneeze at.

Overall I'm pretty convinced. The online user reviews tend to be positive - but do remember that many "satisfied" users have never owned another treadmill to compare it with - and our own reviews left us impressed.

You'll be investing over $1,000 and you need to ensure that you're getting the biggest bang for your buck.

Does this brand give you that? Our Bowflex treadmill review would suggest it does.

They are pretty good, but not quite up to the likes of Sole.

With the recent price reductions, though, they're more than competitive in this price range with more powerful motors, bigger running areas and longer warranties than most rivals.

Ok, ok, all three Bowflex models are decent enough, but they're not quite the best you can buy in this price range.

Good looks but a few plastic components, a comfy deck but not top quality cushioning - you get the picture.

However, the Bowflex range gives you more than enough to keep you satisfied, but not quite enough accross the range to get the discerning buyer overly excited.

Bowflex Treadmill Review - So What do we Think...?

Well, our Bowflex treadmill review leaves us in little doubt that whilst a much better bet than many of the brand's peers, it's not quite the top dog in this price bracket.

On the plus side, I doubt you'll get a better value for money treadmill in its price range than the Series 7.

You're unlikely to be disappointed with your purchase if you choose a Bowflex, but do compare the range with the best of the competion before handing over your cash!
