How this Site is Funded
You may well be wondering how this site is funded -- good question! Our aim is to provide completely impartial, unbiased and independent reviews. So how do we do that and make enough money to pay for the time it takes us to review all these companies and their treadmills and to run this site? First off, we don't get get paid a penny by the manufacturers themselves to write the reviews. We don't get paid by the stores selling the treadmills either. Neither do we promote any particular brand of treadmill. Please be assured that when we review a treadmill if it's good we tell you it is and if it's not good, we tell you that too. You'll find some review sites where all the reviews are positive -- they read like the manufacturers' advertising copy! You'll also find that many online retailers -- and the manufacturers' sites themselves -- don't have a bad word to say about any of their treadmills. That's understandable as they need to sell them! We don't sell treadmills -- we simply review them in what we hope you'll agree is an objective, unbiased way. Sure, there are some great manufacturers that produce consistently high quality products and we tell you that - we're not promoting their products, it's just that they deserve a positive write up.
So How do we Make Money, Then...?
In two main ways. Firstly, we sell advertising space on the site. Some people find this an unwanted distraction. However, we feel that our advertising partners are providing ads very tightly focussed on your search that may be of value to you. Ignore them if you wish! Secondly, we earn a commission from many of the products we review. "But wait", we hear you cry, "how can you be objective and impartial if you get paid a commission on the sales you generate!" Well, here's how it works. The fact that we get paid a commission - a referral fee, if you like - if a visitor from this site buys a treadmill from one of our affiliate partners has no bearing whatsoever on our reviews. We give average and negative reviews to many of the treadmills we review that offer an affiliate commission - which is hardly going to generate a sale! If a treadmill is not a good buy, we'll tell you so! Conversely, We will always tell you about great treadmills whether or not we earn a commission on any subsequent sales. For instance, there are a few manufacturers that sell exclusively through a local network of dealers and do not run an affiliate programme. Many affiliate sites ignore their products because there's no commission in it for them. We do review them because they make fantastic treadmills and often give their products a top rating - irrespective of the fact that we won't make a dime from any referral they receive from us! Now clearly we'd like you to click on one of our affiliate links so we can make an affiliate commission if you decide to buy the treadmill - that's just good business! But that has absolutely no influence on any of our treadmill reviews! Our policy is that honesty is the best policy. We aim to be open and transparent in our business dealings - and this site is a business for us and helps to pay the mortgage! - and would hope that this gives you the confidence to trust our treadmill reviews.
