Sole F63 Treadmill Review
Our Sole F63 treadmill review investigates one of the best selling treadmills on the market - its affordable, its popular, is it worth it?The F63 is the entry level treadmill in the excellent Sole treadmills range, and is aimed at the low to mid price bracket. Whilst the Sole F63 is undoubtedly a good machine, it has suffered a little in Sole's attempts to enter the budget market - albeit at the top end price-wise. It does lack a few of the features the higher end models enjoy - such as the excellent Cushion Flex deck, and suffers a little as a result in the value for money stakes. The main problem with the F63, though is the price - Sole increased it's price tag significantly last year and turned what was an excellent buy that you could pick up for around $1,000 into a way over priced $1,900. OK, you can get hefty discounts online, but even on sale the price tag makes it a mere couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the superb Sole F80 treadmill - a much better choice in our opinion. The F63 is not the smartest option if you're after a Sole and whilst a decent machine and better than much of the competition, it just fails to measure up to the rest of the range.
Sole F63 Treadmill Review - What's it Like...?
For an entry level machine, the F63 has a powerful motor - a meaty 2.5 HP of continuous duty that's far from common in this price range. This makes it good for running on - well, for casual joggers rather than serious athletes, as the 10 mph top speed may be a little modest some runners. The deck does incline up to 15 degrees though, which will give some added intensity to your workout. One beef our Sole F63 treadmill review had with this model is the phenolic deck. With a belt measuring a generous 55" x 20" its good, but this is the only model in the range that doesn't come with the outstanding Cushion Flex Whisper Deck - well worth a few hundred bucks extra. The F63 comes equipped with 2 1/2" rollers, which dwarf those on similar priced treadmills from other manufacturers and make for a smooth and comfortable ride. The console is easy to read and it's comparable with the user interface on much more expensive treadmills. A quick glance at the readout and you'll get all the info you need. There are six pre-set programs, including stand bys such as fat-burning and cardio training. The manual programs are simple - one touch and you're off. The incline and speed controls are handily placed on the arm rests, so there's no reaching out for the console display whilst in full flow. Safety features number an emergency stop switch and a low profile hood to avoid trapped toes. Heart rate monitoring is by way of grip sensors in the handles and a wireless chest strap - but there's no heart rate control on this model. What I did like when running on the F63 is its stability, unusual in treadmills around the $1,000 mark. It weighs in at 245lbs, which helps! The F63 folds up and folding it is a doddle - Sole's folding mechanism is a delight to use and once locked into place it can be safely stowed away and takes surprisingly little space. Sole's warranties are excellent and the F63 has a lifetime warranty on the frame, 20 years on the motor, three years on the deck and parts and one year on the labour. The F63 retails for $1,900 but is currently on sale at Sole Treadmills
for $1,199.98 with free shipping within the continental US.
Sole F63 Treadmill Review - How Does it Rate...?
Our Sole F63 treadmill review would conclude that this was a fantastic treadmill at $1,000 - at the new price its over inflated. If you can pick it up for around $1,200 its still a good deal. Check out Sole Treadmills for the full range of features and the most up to date price on the Sole F63.
