Sole S77 Treadmill Review

Our Sole S77 treadmill review examines one of the best value, non folding treadmills we've rated - so what makes it such a good choice for serious home exercisers?

Well for a start, it's essentially the brilliant Sole F85, but without the folding deck.

Sole receives so many positive reviews from critics and buyers alike because they give you more for your money than most other brands - powerful motors, spacious decks and excellent build quality are the norm.

It's not commercial quality - quite - but the S77 is pretty much as close as you'll get in a treadmill designed for home use.

Whilst you could spend $1,000 more and get a marginally better treadmill - do you really need to?

Sole S77 Treadmill Review - What's it Like...?

Well, read our review of the F85 folding treadmill and you'll get a pretty good idea.

With the same 3.5 HP motor, solid frame, comfortable Cushion Flex Whisper Deck, oversized 2 3/4" rollers, 12mph max belt speed and 15% incline the S77 delivers where it counts.

The 58" x 20" running surface is enough to enable even the tallest runners to really stretch out on and I felt anything but claustrophobic when trying it out.

The console, speed and incline controls on the arms, the workout programs, pulse grip heart rate monitor and hands free chest belt monitor are identical.

The only real difference to the F85 is that the S77 doesn't fold. Now my view is simple. If you have the space and want to keep your treadmill set up and ready to use, the addition of a folding deck is somewhat superfluous - save yourself $100 and go for a fixed deck.

And don't forget the warranties, which are outstanding in this price range and demonstrate Sole's confidence in their product.

There's a 30 year warranty on the motor, lifetime warranties on the deck and frame, a five year warranty on the parts and a two year labour warranty.

Our Sole S77 review really leads us to one conclusion - you'll have to search long and hard for a better value treadmill for under $2,000.

Whilst listing for $2,499, our Sole S77 treadmill review found it discounted to $1,899.99 direct from Sole with free shipping within the US.

Sole S77 Treadmill Review - How Does it Rate...?

  • Design - 7
  • Controls and Programs - 7

  • Value for Money - 8

  • OVERALL RATING - 72/100
  • There's little doubt in my mind that the S77 is an exemplary treadmill on pretty much every level, and not just when compared to similar priced treadmills. It's better than some $4,000 plus treadmills I've tested.

Our Sole S77 review would rate this model as probably the best value non-folding treadmill under $2,000 - it's a steal at the discounted price of $1,899.99.

I'd be tempted to say that it's more treadmill than you'll need to buy if you're a walker or casual runner, but at this price you'll be getting a lot more than you'll be paying for!
