Spirit XT10 Treadmill Review

Our Spirit XT10 treadmill review would conclude that this is pretty much the best treadmill in its price range - why is that, then?

Put simply, if you've got less than $1,500 to spend then the XT10 offers just about the best overall package for your money - it's certainly in our top two or three picks at this price.

The XT10 hasn't got the best motor, biggest deck or most features, but the parts add up to a very satisfying whole.

Let's take a closer look...

Spirit XT10 Treadmill Review - What's it Like...?

The XT10 looks pretty much identical to the cheaper XT9 with a few upgrades that make all the difference.

For starters there's the 2.75 HP continuous duty motor, one of the biggest you'll find at this price.

It proved quiet and composed during our test run with no signs of strain at higher speeds and should be able to handle all but the most serious runners with its maximum speed of 12mph.

There's always the 15% max power incline to fall back on if you need more of a challenge!

The 1" thick, 2 ply belt offers a wide 55" x 20" running area - plenty enough room for me to stretch out on when I tried it.

The deck itself folds up - good for home users without acres of storage space - and proved solid and stable. The running surface absorbed the impact of my size nines whilst remaing firm and responsive.

The deck is equipped with large 2.5" rollers, which reduce friction between the belt and rollers leading to a smoother ride with no signs of grab. The belt should last longer too as a result.

As for controls, the speed and elevation controls built into the arms are convenient, offering 10 quick speed programming options and 12 speed and elevation controls.

The Spirit XT10 treadmill has a far better console display than the cheaper models. The large LED display console has seven display windows, which I found nice and easy to view at a glance and gave me all the data I needed during my review workout.

The 10 workout programs should provide plenty of variety and prevent your workouts getting stale. They include five preset programs, with one manual, two user defined and two heart rate control programs.

In addition to the pulse grip heart rate monitors in the handles, there's a hands-free telemetry chest strap that works well with the heart control programs.

As for the warranties, Spirit's are the best in class with a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, four years on the parts and a year on the labour.

This model usually retails at $1,699, but our Spirit XT10 treadmill review found it discounted to $1,399 at Elite Fitness Equipment.com with free shipping within the US.
